tere are some real nasty peices of work on here - most of you dont know each other and yet some of you attack each other , to the point where it is very offensive and nasty

what drives you to it

we all like a laugh even rudeness occasionly
but to write personal posts about people and their lives???

I have to agree there. I read a lot of the posts and some of the remarks are witty and funny but it can get very personal and nasty sometimes. If it gets like that I ignore it.

we all have different opinions thats what makes it interesting and fun , but ive looked at some recent posts and i cant believe how vindictive some people can be - u know being really personal its just weired

it must be a deep feeling of inadequacy within these few mixed up people

I dont think there are a lot of these people, I think there is a few who masquerade as different users, their need to come on here as an alias and belittle and upset regulars only points to their own inadaquecy and insecurities.

well I get this sort of abuse regularly but I take bags of no notice usually and I also get lots of support from you lovely abers, and everyone always tell me to ignmoe the trolls as they are only jealous and insecure but when someone is targeted who is not used to the treatment or when they are not able to shrug it off like I am, then that is when it is time to stop the users posting and take aqction to get them removed, which is why the site has a report option.

Yeah its nasty and sometimes even although you are on the other side of the PC and dont know the faceless people it can be physically gut-wrenching.

I have dwelt on comments in the past and thought why have you just done that to me.

Its OK having a differing opinion -or a healthy debate but when abuse is thrown at you it hurts -just exactly what its designed to do.Probably because you cant defend your corner because it just becomes dirty.

I've noticed sometimes people mis-read or mis-understood what are posted and starts slagging and insulting others. This can be very hurtful especially when the poster had only good intension.

Ive been attacked on this site when i was feeling really low.
I stayed away for a week or so,and when i came back the same person was having a go at someone else.Guess it was just my turn.

I hope you don't think it was me, redhead, I am new to this site and now feeling paranoid! I would certainly not want to upset anyone (apart from an e-bully of course, they deserve what they give out in my opinion).

Phew - well, does answerbank have a way of flagging up abusive stuff? Or do you just have to hope they spotted it? My daughter and son-outlaw run a website and keep close watch on the postings as they have found you get a lot of very 'troubled' sorts venting their various forms of neurosis/psychosis on unsuspecting contributors. It's an unfortunate side effect of being open to the public - you suddenly realise there's a lot of public who aren't exactly brimming over with the milk of human kindness... ;o)
