Why are some people so jealous?

I went to a restaurant at the weekend and I have to admit I was looking fine. When I arrived, there was a group of two couples sitting at the table next to ours. The guys at the table could NOT keep their eyes off me! The girls spend the whole night giving me filthy looks! Why was this? I did nothing to encourage their men. I was simply out eating my dinner. Do women feel the need to make punish the good looking girls their partners are looking at rather than address their own issues?

Why do say some people are jealous? Maybe they have no appropriate comment or response to your questions.
Have you heard - If you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything.

I would have to have been their to give an impartial verdict, sometimes the reasons are not as obvious as they seem.

Just an observation and no offence intended -

For you to notice that the "guys could not take their eyes off you" you must have been looking at them all the time. No wonder the girls were giving you filthy looks - men who are accompanied by women should be out of bounds and they were probably angry at you looking at their men.

well its just your interpretation of their behaviour, from an onlookers perspective there may have been more going on.

Given that a lot of your post culminate with the verdict that people are jealous, then its questionable that general masses of the population can be jealous of 1 person.
