Confused and shocked

Well , I don't know what to think. It kept me awake with a sick shakey feeling last night and I just have to spill it out to you as I know a lot of you won't mind listening to my little worries.
Last night , around 8 I posted 7 neighbours cards to houses I have given to for years. I don't know who opened it in the house opposite me , but I can only assume the mother was out and her teenagers and mates may have been there. I found my card returned to me through my letterbox , with , what I can only describe as filth , written in it and on the front . Obscenities and name calling , words to make my toes curl . but also very threatening too . They may have thought it a bit of fun , or they were drunk or drugged up , either way , when I see the mother today come in or out of her house I will ask her who it was and why . :-( x

You are right to see the mother - don't wait to bump in to her, ,go and see her. If you have a scanner, scan it first.
Tell her what happened without accusing any of her children. Hopefully it was one of their friends.
Let us know how you get on, and try not to let is spoil your day if you can.

Oh my god-mamma. I feel almost sick reading that......how thouroughly mean and evil!!!! I couldn't even begin to give a name to anyone with such a warped mentality. I do hope that you are able to get to the bottom of it and find out who did it...if only to put your mind at rest....good luck, hon. Tis the season to be jolly-eh? xxxx
Thankyou so much Ethel , and pastafreak , that's a good idea Ethel , I will scan it first . The curtains over there are still drawn , I expect it will be a while before they are up . I daren't go to the door so I may wait until the mum is at her car . I am scared in case the culprit answers the door as I'm not sure who is in there this morning. :-) xxx
oh bigmamma, thats ridiculous, I would have been upset too. Thats a serious matter if there are obscenities and threats written on it. Some people have no idea what hurt they inflict on others.
I do hope the mother can sort it out for you but, as Ethel says, maybe keep a copy of it but put it away so it doesnt upset you any more. I did that once with a note pinned to my car from the owner of a house I had parked outside of, I had decided to reply to the note the next day and put it thro their letterbox but when I got to the garden a big Doberman came round from the back and I ran away lol
Good luck pet.

Oh BM, I would be just as upset too! I live in a small cul-de-sac and have always posted Christmas cards to our neighbours since our first Christmas here and if I had any returned in the same way I would feel sick and very upset too.
I hope you get to the bottom of who did this by speaking with the mother. Let us know how you get on and please try not to let it upset you too much.
Take care xx

Hello , and thankyou sally , and unrulyjulie , I will only speak to the mum and I will just ask her who was there last night , I won't accuse as I don't know if it was her lads or the mates. Her lads are not little , that makes it worse as they are all bigger than my lad and in their late teens and early 20s . :-) xxx
so what are this family like in general bm? are they generally ok, how do you think mum will react? Is the lad normally a problem?
Sounds to me like maybe it was one of the lads so called friends. I would expect a lad of that age to have more respect for his neighbours, mind you, these days, its hard to tell!
good luck xx

Hi bigmamma,
What an awful thing to happen, especially when you were sending Christmas wishes!
I would probably have cried.
Please don't let it get you down, I think you already know that it wasn't the lady that lives there - however, she really needs to know about it. They may have done it to other cards received too. I expect she will be both shocked and embarrassed, or I hope she is.
Happy Christmas to you and your son - I wish you were my neighbour.
Big hugs,
Missy

what little s0ds!
Id be upset too, what a disgusting thing to do! I take it your son is back at base is he? I bet he'd have been desperate to get round and tell whoever it was where to go!
I hope the mother settles things and doesnt ignore you, Id be appalled if my son ever did this when hes older.
No Christmas pressies for them this year, with any luck!
ps. Mr CRX's appliance got called away from a bin fire the other day following a call from some kids trapped in a burning house. When the crews got there, mum and dad were downstairs completely unaware that their kids had made a prank call! I just wonder whats up with some kids nowadays! Am so glad little CRX is on his best behaviour for fear of santa not visiting!
