love thy neighbour
6 Answers
was bought the 3rd series of love thy neighbour by a relative for xmas and its absolutely hilarious, i can vaguely rem it from when i was younger but having rewatched it i can't believe that they were allowed to get away with some of the racist jokes on it, it would never be allowed now with the whole world gone politically correct mad, bloody funny though, do yourselves a favour, buy it!

Althjough nowhere near as subtle and cleverly drawn in its cahracterisation, LTN was a clever satire of the socially (if not culturally or intelligently) advancing working classes.
Because attitudes have altered so much, series like this do serve as interesting examples of what was considered humourous and acceptable in those times, and compared with what we understand as humour and social satire today.
I never found it laugh-out-loud funny, but I still found it more amusing than anything Catherine Tate or Lttle britain serve up as humour.
