skynet wins
2 Answers
so from the terminator films...lets say skynet wins, and wipes out humanity...
what does skynet do then? what do you think this super advanced A.I would think next? if it was me, id think "okay, humanity is destroyed. now what? whats my purpose? im a bunch of code inside a huge super computer. whats left to do other than think? and think about what? ive won."
see...what do you think would happen next? do the machines just stop, literally? i suppose this shouldnt go under body and soul...but after wiping out humanity...what else left has skynet got but body (hardware) and soul (software) ?

I think it was alluding to the human systems of running the world and generally cocking things up, having petty nation states and generally fighting among ourselves. He also mentions that although extermination was the objective, some humans where kept alive to perform functions that presumably the machines couldn't manage. I like to think that the intention of skynet was similar to Drax in Moonraker, ie remove the "faulty" humans and their flawed systems an start again. Ultimately Skynet would repopulate the planet but maintain control so that humans could live comfortable lives without the need for all the in fighting etc. A sort of benevolent caretaker type arrangement. Just my thoughts, no basis!
