No -i'm sound Leg really -pressures of high pressured jobs, both working fulltime 2 kids -etc etc -just different men in diferent times of my life.
Its possible to love 2 people -I was young the first time and older the second time - still love the both of them for different reasons and h does understand cos he is ace with the kids helping them and with me when I have a moment.
I think I have been bloody lucky -well it remains to be seen with H but he keeps me demented so ergo that keeps you lot entertained.

Every potential partner you meet and love or think you love, is number one at some point....Second best is only learnt afterwards..The people you talk about on holiday Leg,they at one point in their relationship was two peas in a pod...No such thing as the perfect partner or soulmate,if everything was perfect, you'd get bored....Relationships eh! like taking a bath....real hot at first but it soon cools down ....

I did have second best for several years. But in the end I took a chance and jumped for the best. Only did it after I was sure I would never be happy with my first marriage.
Twenty years later jumping ship was still the right decision.
Life is not a dress rehearsal. You have to go for the best or one day you find yourself old and disappointed.

Totally agree with you, but some stay with second-best partners, or feeling second best themselves, for a variety of reasons - namely for the sake of children, or for financial reasons. Also, many people THINK that the grass's greener - and then find out that once the initial lust's worn off, it's something very different, but personally, I agree with legand and others - it's better to stay single than play second fiddle, or take on someone who's second best just because you're lonely.
