For a joke me and my boyfriend had an arm wrestling competition, I'm only petite sized, and to mine and his surprise I beat him. He now keeps asking for a re-match. Do you think I may have hurt his feelings, and perhaps I should start letting him win????? Hippy

If you had lost the arm wrestle would you have got upset?.. I think he probably let you win to stop you from moaning, but now he realizes your gloating is worse than your moaning so wants to arm wrestle again so he can win and shut you up

No im not saying you should let him win.. Just arm wrestle him again and im quite certain he wont lose.. although saying that I don't know what he looks like , he could be smaller than you in which case he should lose !. I just think if your petite sized he may have let you win. Let us know how you get on though and I will say sorry if you win.

I once let my girlfriend win a running race, we had a similar problem , The only way now is for me to win each time, This stops her thinking she is better than she is. I know it sounds petty but i dont mention it to her when i win , but if i let her win she just keeps bringing it up.

That's really strange Donkey, because I once had a running race with my boyfriend, and the first time I won I never heard the end of it he sulked for ages. So from now on I've found it's much easier to just let him win!!!!

I used to play for our local football clubs pool team. I was the only girl in our team and had no problems playing with the rest of my team (pool, I mean!) and we would all win, fair and square against each other. Once, when we played an away match against an all male team (as most were) my opponent was obviously not very happy to be playing against the only girl. Our frame started off well - we both potted 2 or 3 in a row. Then he suddenly started, quite obviously, missing pots and larking about. It got to the point where even his team mates were getting annoyed with his 'misses'. In the end, I said to the ref, if he didn't void the frame and start another (I was technically winning) I would just leave. He set up an new rack and we played the frame again. It can happen with the same sex too though - some people are just bad losers. It doesn't bother me either way, as long at it has been a good, honest game with fair play, that is the main thing and reason to partake, surely? P.S. Sorry, I waffled a bit there

I wouldn't let my boyfriend win if I knew I could beat him! I think it's better to accept defeat, otherwise what is the point in arm wrestling or racing etc in the first place??? You may aswell not bother!

My husband never ever allows me to lose anything in a battle between him and me. This works for us as 1) I never know if I have really won ergo do not gloat (which I admit I certainly would do 2) He always takes losing gracefully 3) It makes us laugh !

Very impressed Donkey, funny you should mention that, but not too long ago I beat my boyfriend at Dingbats, Connect 4 and The game of knowledge, as you can see he's not very good at board games!!!!

Donkey, my boyfriend felt sure he was going to win a game of rummy last night, and then I won the game, he had the right donald......so never be to sure your gonna win.....and I'm called Skinny because of my slendor figure of cause.....
