I dont eat carbohytdrates at all -but thats just personal choice -I have covered everything I need in my personal diet for a healthy diet.
I drink loads of water and almost abstain from alcohol but I do now allow myself a few glasses of wine..

The Lurpac light advert that is on the telly at the moment is so true, in a nutshell it says " don't stop eating the things you like , just eat less of them "

I was on Atkins diet for about 3 months and can confirm the weight falls off. The only problem I had was constipation and got worried no defecations were taking place. I fanally gave up the diet because of the cravings for chocolate, bread, biscuits and cakes. I'm afraid the whole weight loss went back on again. To make it work you need a target and once there have a good reason for being on that reduced weight.
Hi, I did Atkins the week before xmas to lose a few pounds, I never thought I had lost anything untill I tried on clothes that were usually tight, thats the only way I noticed - they were hanging off me!! you cant eat anything sweet on the diet at all, you cant have any sugar. I completley cut out all carbs exept for a sweet cup of coffee every morning and I was fine and lost what I needed to!

Hi. I did Atkins about 4 years ago and lost 2.5 stone in about 5 months. It is quite possible that you are not eating enough carbs! Protein can work as an appetite suppressant naturally. but you DO need those carbs for balance and nutrition.(and roughage) Atkins has bad press as most people think it is substituting healthy foods for lots of fat. If done sensibly, it can work for you, but you must stay hydrated and eat lots of veg. The very restricted part is just at the beginning so don't be tempted prolong this bit. In the end, all Atkins aims for is to get you off processed, starchy carbs and sugar.
