just recently i have started with a slightly sore throat and numb tongue. its not the whole of my tongue that is numb, just underneath at the back. it feels like it has been strained or something. i was at the dentist last week and he was telling me to push my tongue from side to side etc and i was wondering if it was from that.
in a morning my throat is most sore and i get a bit of phlegm. has anybody else had this? i know that there is alot of colds going around.

If it is a cold it will go, if it doesnt go after a few weeks go get it checked out it could be more serious like mouth cancer
Forget mouth cancer!
You've probably strained your tongue from visiting the dentist. The sore throat is probably unrelated. A slight cold? Reaction to dust, feathers, spicey food. Could you be a big snorer?
Try hot toddies (warm lemon squash with soluble aspirin and honey). A drop of whisky helps to cheer you up.
Get well soon.
Definitely forget mouth cancer! (Your dentist would have picked this up anyway - they are usually the first people to spot oral cancers when they check your mouth)

I go along with Oldbutgold. However, to put your mind at rest go along to your dentist and ask him to take a look.
do you have the heating on at night and the windows closed, if you do try turning heating down or opening window for a bit of air, or do both
