Dating sites

Been toying with the idea for a while..... you know, online dating. But even my eldest son has said I should give it a go. (think he is sick of me sitting around everynight) I am very wary, as being a lone parent (yeah single mum) Divorced. I tend to think all men think of us as easy lay, or desperate..... I am neither.


God I am waffling. So basically, what I am asking is.

1. Can anyone recommend a good site
2. Has anyone met someone from a online site (and got a happy ending?)

I am mainly just looking for a bit of adult company, go for a drink, see a film, and see how we get on sort of thing.

Hi again Petal - hi Tiggs. I know absolutely nothing about dating sites, apart from the fact that a friend of mine's now happily married to someone he met online (no idea which site).
You can meet people in all sorts of ways - this being just one of them, but I think you need to exercise caution, which I'm sure you will do - x

I have friends who say "No don't go on online dating" which has sort of put me off (why would they say that?)

Also I really hate having my picture taken and having your photo on a site is paramount! (well so it says) if not you get all the ugly ******* contacting you.

To be honest, I would rather meet someone (not on a dating site) but as my social life is sort of stuck as I have the children to look out for. Its seems an option for me.

These websites seem to be very popular as they are advertised. I'd give it a go if I didn't have my man friend ;-).

Bless, I know how it is when you have children to look after. At least you've been a good mum and not just dumped them on anyone to hand so that you can go out and enjoy yourself.
I've heard that some of these dating sites ARE O.K., but I think you've just got to be careful that you don't meet up with anyone too soon. As for the pic - awwww, stop it. Put one up, and to hell with it, but don't judge by looks alone. Maybe I shouldn't say this, but a relative married the ugliest guy I'd ever seen. He's BRILLIANT - very caring, a good partner & father - and for what it's worth - loaded! Good luck xx.

Ice, looks to me are not that important as according to my 16 year old daughter, my ex partner of 4 years. Was U G L Y! lol.
but he had the ego of well........whatever.

Maybe I am not yet ready.

online aint all bad but it is more about looks than anything else.
i meet a few people online but i talked to them on msn to get to know them properly. i then found that i really liked one of them and really got to know her much better before we meet.
