The Great Escape

In the film, there's a scene at the beggining where Charles Bronson and James Coburn are trying to escape with a group of Russians. Coburn asks Bronson, "Do you speak any Russian?" Bronson replies, "Only one sentence" and says "Yavas nu blue" which means I love you. Now, my question is, have I spelt it correctly? And does that really mean I love you in Russian? Any help would be great.

"Ya vas lyublyu" is indeed one way to say "I love you" in Russian, along with "Ya tebya lyublyu" and
"Ya polubeel s'tebya".
