dental treatment
1 Answers
I have, apparently, a hairline crack in a tooth. My dentist (private) has explained that there are two potential options - to have the tooth fully removed and a bridge, or to have root canal work (saving some of the tooth) and a crown. Either way, she says this will cost me about 1000!!!!
Does anyone know if this sort of price is to be expected for such work and if so, are there any alternatives for me to try and get the cost down?

- root canal treatment privately (especially for a molar tooth) can range from 300-600 and then obviously there is the cost of the restoration on top of that.
Its worth noting that you may (and you'd have to shop around so to speak) be able to get an implant for that sort of money (better than a bridge)
- however obviously if there is a high chance of success with root canal treatment then retention of your own tooth is better
- you could try and get access to an NHS dentist in your area
DO NOT go abroad (before anyone suggests it)
