I work in a Mental Health Hospital and Live in a self contained house that belongs to NHS. The house is on hospital grounds. Also, this nhs accomodation is only for those who work full time.
I share this house with someone who has a diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia. I knew that this person was ill due to his psychotic behaviour, eg. shouting at night, opening the fridge at night even though this person has no food of his not cleaning, storing dirty things (dirty pots, ashtrays) in his cupboard.
I am incensed that soemthing like this is taking place. He obviously is not well and the service user employment programme does not seem to be interested.
what would you advise? I do not want to move out as I like th eproperty (not one of his occupants)
If what you say is true, he is floridly psychotic and not in a fit mental state to be working, let alone live in the community. His relevant CPN should be informed, maybe he isn't being compliant with his medication?I'm sure if you work in mental health you could seek the proper advice???
