Dolby vs. DTS

Ok, i have an AV reciever and a 5.1 speaker set-up. and on the reciver is "dts" and dolby digital. i have several DVD's with both audio track (dts+dolby) and was wondering with is better, and what the differences are? any help would be great.

Both use MP3-like techniques for making the audio file smaller, the more you "compress" the audio to make file smaller the lower the quality, DTS's files are much larger and therefore better quality, the down side is because of the larger file size there is less space for extra's features on the disc such as other languages.
