changing the color of brick wall

i have a red brick wall in an apt and wanted to change the color to a gray tone...without making it solid paint is there a technique or type of paint i can use i want to keep the texture of the brick too..

You could try using a roller without much paint on it, and build up the colour slowly or try sponging.
