Just wondered what you thought:
Imagine a photo of a group of school kids on their last day at school, in the 6th form. One of them (a girl) is standing next to a teacher (male, 40s) who has his arm round her shoulder and they look very close.
Would you say this was out of order, or fine? What would your view be if you saw this photo, and the girl was your sister or daughter? Would you make any snap judgement?

I hope that I would be a little more aware of the circumstances around this 'relationship' to be able to make a judgement.

Yes, what I am after is a snap judgement, without knowing anything about the background.
As I tend to give the benefit of the doubt...............that's what I would give. Until evidence to the contrary came to light.
snap judgements can be very dangerous !

do you already have a suspicion and thats why you see the pic like that?

just saw said scene you describing in a move couple weeks ago. sorry, don't remember the name and it was about playing sports and basketball.
Absolutely fine. Relationships between students and teachers are very different these days (for the better) without overstepping the mark.

I wish my teachers, many years ago, were as relaxed as they are these days! I wouldn't have been so terrified of them to the point where I never understood anything but was too scared to ask !!!
I would not go making assumptions without any facts.
Teachers should preserve a professional distance in every sense whether their classes are aged 5 or 55. Unless of course they are called Chris Woodhead in which case they can have a 17 year-old and still go on to be in charge of Ofsted.
Well, it's the last day of the girl's school life and it's an "End of School Life" photo. One for the photo album before life moves on. How many times have most of been called together for a Group Photo and all put our arms round each other's shoulders? It doesn't necessarily mean anything at all. Yes, perhaps the teacher is attached to her. Lots of people get attached to people they spend their working lives with. If he'd had his arm around her shoulder during the educational process I would be a little concerned, but a one-off end-of-term photo in my view, is a rather different affair.

Thanks, Whoever, that's interesting!
I agree with Whoever. As a HS teacher, I have been in may photos like this on the last day or at prom or graduation. While I know that one can never be too careful, I would not be so quick to go to the negative with this one.

No.
