talking in pub last week with some drinking pals, one said, is there life out there somewhere. Not across the road but in space.

I said that there must be. My mate said there is no life but here on earth , if there is then prove it.

I just said that it would be inconceivable in the vastness of space that ours is the only planet which contains life.

We will never know because of the monumental distances between galaxies etc, but what do you think.

Is there intelligent life out there.

Yes I agree with you, there must be some form of other life out there, but it doesn't necessarily have to be in our shape.
Gotta be something out there Doc, but what or where, will we ever know,? the way this mortal coil is going it can only be better cos it can't be any worse can it.
I would say it is prodigiously unlikely. Loads of stuff on google, but it has been shown that the chances of life forming by accident from the primitive molecules in the swamp are astronomically against, so for it to happen twice or more, fantastic beyond comprehension.

Good question Steve! Lol

I believe that each star in the galaxy is a sun with planets orbiting it.

I think the probability of life being found elsewhere is very high. I'm just not sure what form it will take..........and I'm not convinced that sending out radio messages is the way to go about contacting them..........they might not listen to the radio !

There may well be life on Mars, but if our scientists are busy looking for carbon-based bi-peds I reckon they'll miss whatever life-form has developed in that specific atmosphere and conditions.
