My husband is only painting the skirting in our bedroom renovation, but he works at a very slow pace, takes months to do this. I have offered to do it and even said, we will get the decorator to finish it for him. But no; no one can do it as good as him!! I really would appreciate your comments on this as it really does get me down!
I don't want to cause a major argument over this. Have you got any suggestions please to speed this man up?
I am sleeping in a separate bed at the moment due to the work being carried out. Thanks for listening. PLEASE HELP!!

I would just do it when he is not there and just say you couldnt wait to get back into the same bed as him!!
On a day when you are both free or off from work suggest to him that you both work together the complete the work, or as much as possible on that day.

Or, give him a deadline for when the work must be completed. Tell him if it's not completed then you will take care of it. Whether you do it yourself or have someone come in and do it.
This happened to me, I was taking my time, (as husbands do), came home from work one day, and there was my dear wife, painting the doors with no preperation, and more paint on herself and the carpet than on the doors,

I did have a bit of a wobbly, but forgave her, and it taught me a lesson,

I still think she did it on purpose, but just in case, no more hanging around.
Lonnie,
Hate to say it but I think there was method in your Wife's madness.
That is sometimes the only way to get something done around the house. lol
Try and do the decorating together. My husband will gloss one door and I will gloss another. Same with skirting etc. Agree to work together and get it done quicker.
my hubby is the same if i ask him to decorate he wants at least 4 weeks notice ( i did ask once if he thought he was the bl**dy council !! lol ) and then its a major production which takes weeks, so for last couple of years when he has gone away on work courses i have done one room, its so much easier lol
have u tried bribes? choccy cakes? action films? blow jobs?
Lonnie's solution sounds good.

My mother once had my dad's shed dismantled and dumped after he took months to sort it - few loose planks.

Granted my mother was nuts....
badboy - still being bad i see!!
