Nursing Bras

How necessary are nursing bras? I hope to be able to breastfeed, but if I can't then I will end up with bras that I presumably won't need? I am trying to get my hospital bag ready one last time and I am loathe to go buy two bras that I mightn't need, even though they are on most of the lists for packing. If I do get on ok with breastfeeding then surely I can go buy nurseing bras in the first few days after birth? Thanks all xx

Nursing bras have flaps that you undo to feed the baby with, so you'll be needing them for as long as you're breastfeeding.

Believe me, unclipping the flaps are alot easier than having to undo the whole bra, or hoist it over your boob.

Can you not buy a cheap one, and see if you need them after the birth? That way you won't have wasted your money in case you don't need it, but you'll still have an emergency one in case you do. And you can get Mr Nat to go and get them for you, once you've given him ALL PRECISE AND COMPLETE instructions! lol You can even get them from mail order, I believe, so you wouldn't have to go out of your way at all. xxx

Thanks ladies, I will go buy one then and keep the label / tag so if hubby needs to go buy more then he should be able to do so easily.

I'll probably end up with a saucy peep-hole from Ann Summers though because he made a *mistake* LOL

Damn right - I have three Primark nightdresses, a rather special black and red one with gold stripes, and a blue one with pink roses and a pink one with with pink roses. What with my big pants, pink slippers and leopard print peep hole bra, hubby won't know what's hit him.

Oh definitely. Then, when you have people over, an air freshener called "Eau De Nappy" is also essential to create a special atmosphere in your home. As well as amusing stories of placenta deliveries. Petits fours, anyone? ;O)

Only buy one or two to begin with, then you'll need another one for a while when you're boobs get huge and then a few weeks you'll need a different size again.

Oh good lord, it makes me want to cry just thinking about how big and solid your boobs get when breastfeeding.

You wreck your normal bras if you try to breastfeed regularly whilst wearing them.

Don;t forget the nipple cream.

you should go to a large primark store, they do nursing bras for �4 thay are really nice and comfortable. hope this helps x
