Internet Dating - Acceptable or Not?

I've recently had some random girl chat me up on Facebook. She seems really nice, looks great and and makes me laugh. BINGO! Trouble is i always thought there was something a bit seedy about internet dating. What do you reckon?? Should i say sod it and meet up with her?

One other thing, she's 24 and i'm 30. Never been out on a date with somebody that much younger than me. It shouldnt matter should it?? only 6 years?

I'd suggest a daytime coffee date. If it goes well, then make a proper date for later.
If she turns out to have some arresting personal defect you've only lost an hour out of your life.

i agree with starting with a daytime meet, somewhere neutral like a coffee shop. Early afternoon for a couple of hours.

I chatted to my fella as friends for months before we actually met, it went rather fast from there lol

This all sounds rather promising. So have any of you been on quite a few of these internet dates? Sounds from what i've heard they are a good thing. I guess at least you have a good idea about them before you meet. Any nightmare dates occured?
