i just got my hair dyed... its one shade darker than my natural color but its all the same color with no variation so it looks real bad. i just got it done yesterday.. is there anyway to speed up the process of washing it out? and if not how long will it take to fade away on its own?

Well, you could either re-dye your hair a different color, or take it to a salon and try to do something with it there. Maybe you should even try to highlight it. But other than that there's not a lot you can do to speed to up, just hafta let it take its toll. It all depends on what kind of dye you got to tell how long it will stay.
After a hair colour disaster once, my hairdresser told me depending on the severity to use either, a dandruff or clarifying shampoo, or if it is really bad to buy a pack of hair dye, and the liquid peroxide stuff you get with it, you need to use about a 10p piece size, rub this in and leave it for 5 mins and then shampoo out with a clarifying shampoo. If it is THAT bad go and see a hairdresser.
A hairdresser once told me that 'Head and Shoulders' shampoo was good for washing out unwanted colour. Not sure if it works but may help speed it up.
