my daughter had a fall last fri and cut her knee open.She was unable to have stitches.It is still bleeding.Is this normal.

NO! That's not normal at all! Her body should of formed a clot by now if the wound did not need stitches. You need to take her to the emergency room and get those stitches quick before an infection comes on. If this happens she could lose her leg. I've had stitches many times and trust me if it's still bleeding severely then go get them. Butterfly stitches does not work. I even heard it causes infection as well. If its not bleeding very badly then it's a judgement call on your part. I would just to be safe.
Not really, but being on the knee its really difficult to keep from bending and maybe tearing the scab...anyway drink lots of liquid just in case and take her back to see the doctor....are u giving her asprin...it thins the blood and makes it difficult to stop....other reason could be more sinister....better go back to doctor immediately...and to rule out anything sinister ask for a blood test to check that her blood is ok... Hope all goes well.
