But on myself yes I do, I think it is how you see yourself and how you see others. As long as you are happy and feel comfortable then it shouldnt matter what others think. Congratulations on the weight loss tho - xxx
your ankles must be made of lead or summat..... im 5'6" weighing 12st 6lb and im struggling to get into size 18. i reckon youre incredibly lucky to be a size 14. im that ba$tard apple shape and everything looks crap on me. however a weight gain of 4 stone in a year is very unhealthy hun and you should worry about that rather than your ultimate size. xx
I'm 5'6 and my top bit is a 14 and me bottom bit is a 16 and I'm quite happy with it really. I've obviously got wobbles but I can't complain really, it's me own fault and just as soon as summer comes round I will go back on the salads just because I'd prefer to be a 14 on the bottom too. However in winter I eat enough for a small village.
It is absolutely fine- you are nice and tall and won't look overweight at all. The only thing that concerns me about your post is that you managed to put on 4 stone in a year. That really is quite a lot in a short space of time. You can lose half a stone easily in the first week, but after that it will slow down to about 1-2lbs a week, and does take a lot of determination to lose weight and keep it off. Sounds like you were probably underweight before though. If you are happy, that's fine and I'm sure you look lovely. But do be aware the strain sudden weight gain has on your body- just as sudden weight loss has. Yo-yo dieting messes up your metabolism and it can start a lifetime of diet hell if you're not careful- I speak from experience!
Absolutely not - can't stand boney women.
Don't fall into the trap of comparing yourself to pictures of women on womens magazines or clothes models.
That thin model shape appeal to most men about as much as male body builders appeal to most women
5'9 s a decent height for a woman (average is 5'4) you should be able to carry it easily

You probably look fine , but now is the time to look after your body - a bit of exercise ( not hours in a sweaty gym, but maybe walk some places where you now drive), not too much booze, and be aware of what you are eating. It applies to all of us. Other than that, enjoy life without worrying too much.
Aim for healthy and happy.

I sympathise with you Islonchick. I'm in exactly the same situation. I also met my boyfriend a year ago, I was an athletic 10 stones 5 pounds. Obviously through getting comfortable and eating out too much, my weight rose to 12 stones 12 pounds. I'm about a size 14/16 and 5'6 tall.
Like you, I've been dieting for a week, (started juicing) and I've also lost 7 pounds. As for whether people think 12st 8lbs is large for your height, well it's hard to know without seeing you, you could be muscular or large boned, which would naturally make you heavier than someone of the same height, who had finer bone structure and smaller muscles.
In the UK a size 16 is the average size for women, but it really comes down to how you feel about yourself, not what others think. I feel I am too big now and none of my size 10 clothes fit me anymore, so I know for my own self esteem, fitness and health, I need to shed at least 2 stones.
I wish you success with your weight loss.

Take a look at this http://www.healthchecksystems.com/heightweight chart.htm ......and no,I think you sound fine for your height, but I WOULD query why you put on that much in a year.

well i have to say that some of the most attractive/sexy girls i know would be size14/16,it's really the shape and the way that a larger girl presents herself that defines it....though there are limits! to be honest i think you'll find that for most men really skinny girls are a bit of a turn off...size 0...eeeeeughh!
I'm the same height as you and was a skinny minnie size 8 till I was 25. I'm now 11.5st and a size 14 but, like you, have been concerned about getting some of the weight off (even though I'm within my BMI). At the end of the day - when I was skinny I had A cup bras and no butt - now I'm a happy C cup and have a 'curve' to my backside, which I (and my boyfriend!) love.
It's all about feeling comfortable in your own skin and being healthy. I want to get down to 10.5st but no further - don't want to lose my curves! To get down to a size 12 I'm taking the exercise route - lots of long hikes at the weekend, so that I'll tone up but not lose the 'good stuff'! ;)

I think it is more a question of shape than size. There are some size 14 women that look much bigger and some that are really shapely and sexy. With your height I would imagine you are more shapely. If you are healthy then there is nothing to worry about.
I am 5'4" and 8st 11lb, size 8/10 clothes............I guess I would be considered ugly and bony judging by some of the other replies on here.
