What can unborn babies hear?
I'm 36 weeks pregnant and know that babies can hear sounds, music, talking etc in the womb when they reach a certain stage of development. I was just wondering though, can it hear my music when I listen to my ipod? Hope it isn't a stupid question! Thanks x
Ps Have been reading through some previous pregnancy posts and know there are quite a few ladies due any day now so good luck everyone! x

Im 37 weeks pregnant, come join the ladies who are about to give birth, we have a bit of a race going on one thread lol
Baby can hear sounds around you, but wont hear what you hear through headphones. They will hear your reaction to the music via your heartbeat though.
Sounds are muffled to them but they will pick up on the voices of parents so they recognise them at birth apparently.
good luck to you too, is this your first?

Thanks, I didn't think it could but the more I started to think about it the more convinced I became that it might do!
This is my third baby - got two boys who are 10 and just 3. Still petrified about labour, even though I've done it twice before! We also have NO ideas for names whatsoever and are quickly running out of time!
I'll definitely be keeping an eye on all the other expectant mums on here. Thanks again guys x

Hi Lissy Doll. Someone told me when I was pregnant that babies could hear things like the music to Coronation Street, Emmerdale etc. I didnt know whether to beleive them, however when I had Tilly (her nickname) she used to look up when Corrie etc came on.
Honest !
Good Luck with your pregnancy. Wish it were me. lol.
