I would not get my hair done by someone whose hair I didn't like myself, or whose hair I couldnt see due to it being covered in any type of headgear. Would you?

Bushra Noah - Damaged feelings? Get a grip girl. People get turned down for jobs everyday.

Sarah Desrosiers - good for you, I hope you win.

AND......Isn't the point of muslim headdress to prevent women from looking attractive to men?

So, why would such a devout muslim woman want a job that glamorises and beautifies women?
I think that if a person's religous beliefs prevent them from carrying out a job effectively (like female surgeons who refuse to scrub up) then they effectivley ruling themselves out of certain jobs!

Exactly Meg.

Religious beliefs are voluntary.

A vegetarian would not go for a job in a butcher then complain about handling meat!
Unfortunately there are two sides to this. Many Muslim women go into the beauty business - and even though they might choose to wear a veil, they still have hair underneath, which they like to keep looking - and feeling - nice. If they can't get training as hairdressers. etc., how on earth are they going to learn?
Fit in or f#*k off in this case. Sick and tired of the whole Muslim thing. Our country runs scared form it.

Yes Ice but it's one thing keeping your own hair in good condition, but its another taking up hairdressing to make women more attractive (which hairdressers do and that's why we go).

Apparently this girl "begged" the manager for an interview knowing she was unlikely to get the job. Seems a scam was in place from the start from this young girl......
Sounds like 'hair' today, gone tomorrow to me!
clearly in it for the claim !!!!
No I wouldn't have my hair done by someone whose hair I couldn't see. How can anyone judge a salon's standards if the hairdresser's hair is hidden? In seeking damages, this girl clearly has an agenda, and is clearly making trouble.

I hope the shop owner wins too.
