in todays news daily mail father of four was ordered to pay 210 pounds for over filling his bin, because he would not pay the on the spot fine of 80 pounds to the bin police. they visited him in stab proof vest ffs and told him to pay a surcharge of an extra 15 pounds to victim of violence and threatened with prison if he does not pay.
He now has a criminal record over this all because of some loony Copeland council in Cumbria.
His bin gets emptied once every two weeks and the lid was open by four inches ffs.
Why are we just sitting on our back sides and letting these local councils get away with it, its about time we should all unite and throw our bin bags on the bloody road in a heap if you cant get them in,take your ID out and every one do it together every monday then keep ringing the council to say rubbish has been dumped in your street ?MAKE A STAND and stop being wimps
The next thing coming in to this country soon is the new speed cameras BLOODY DESTROY THEM this government loves to control people how can a few hundred people in Parliament with no common sense control a nation ???????

They put a sticker on the lid saying why it wasn't emptied and you are left to try and dispose of some of it until the lid will stay down, phone the council and they come back the next day. Sometimes it's not even a couple of inches but what we find is that when we go to work some of the neighbours try and dispose of their rubbish in our bin because theirs is full.

Firslty, this person has a family of three. He has an extra large bin (normally for families of 5 or more).
Secondly, he had been warned before about this and told of the consequences of not following the rules.
He chose to ignore the rules (which every other person in his county has managed to follow).
He was taken to court and could not even be bothered to turn up. He was obviously fined in his absence since he offered no defence.
He was then visited by officials (and yes they wear stab proof vests as a standard) and told to pay the fine or he would be sent to prison.
EVERY other person in his county can abide by the rules. But no, he decides that he is more important and a daily newspaper decides that this is an important news story.
WAKE UP - it is people like him who is forcing councils into wasting time and money. He was fined 80.00. This is no where close to the costs incurred by the council. If he had managed to do what every other person in his county manages to do, the council would not have had to waste time and money pursuing him.
Would you be happy if everyone let their bins overflow and rats and maggots were allowed to breed?

stoke - you pay council tax for a certain amount of rubbish to be cleared.
Would you think it fair if a builder put all his rubbish out for the council to collect?
What about other traders?
And whilst we are at it, maybe I should stop picking up my dog's poo. After all, I pay my council tax - the council have a responsibility to keep the streets clean - let them sort it out.

oneyevic,so if the council did not collect your HOUSEHOLD rubbish you would be moaniing 'what do i pay my council tax for?'now you and i both know that builders rubble does not constitute HOUSEHOLD rubbish.if youir dog fouls the pavement it is a 50.00 fine/.....so therefore i would take your poop scoop with you...............
oneeyedvic i dont i care if this family has an extra large bin if he pays council tax then councils get rid of it, it worthy of the news papers because it just shows what is really happening to this country and i for one would break the law and throw my rubbish in the street so wake up girl and get real and get the **** out of your eyes
The evil motorist is an easy target for the legislators and police.
Catching rapists? Nope. Too difficult.
Catching kidnappers? Nope. Too difficult.
Catching murderers then? Nope. Too difficult.
Catching people who drive a bit fast? Yes!!! At last. A group of people worth spending time, resources and money to track down.
But ... if they are doing no harm, and you can only catch them by checking the time at two points on their journey, shouldn't we leave them be, and divert the resources towards tracking down dangerous criminals???
Noooooo!!!! I can hear the legislators chanting ...
"WE HATE DRIVERS. WE HATE DRIVERS.
FINE THEM. BAN THEM. STOP THEM."
Som if you get mugged or raped or burgled, don't bother pestering the police. They are far too busy trying to catch the really serious baddies, namely the car drivers who are wickedly doing 45mph in a 40 zone.
