stomach pain around waist

a friend of mine is being treated for a stomach bug by his doctor and has been treated for 7 WEEKS he is in a lot of pain and he still has trouble sitting or standing for long he said 10 mins. and cant walk much more than maybe 3 or 4 mins.
he is 49years old.
the pain is around his middle.
this seems incredible to me that a stomach bug can last this long.

Your friend needs to see his doctor again, he may need a different treatment. Never neglect pain regardless of where it is. His body is telling him that something is not quite right.Make an appointment soon.
