I have short cropped hair. I don't like to leave it without washing it at least once a day because it is horrid and if I don't wash it it sticks up every where, so I wash it to style it. My daughter says I shouldn't wash it every day. This is worrying me a bit that I do because she is probably right and I'm not doing it any good.
Is there a way round this an still make it look resonably ok and tidy? Could it also be the reason why I have a lost a lot of hair over the past 7 or 8 years.
Thanks for your time.

I use a conditoner every other day. I find if I leave my hair as I have today, because I'm not going anywhere, it get greasy.
It is curly at the bottom but because it is thinning on top any length makes it look worse because of its thickness at the ends. So I keep it short.
It really does bug me and if I leave it any longer than 48 hours it itches.
I am seriously thinking of getting husbands shears and going crew cut and wearing a wig. :-(

Yea thanks for asking. She said it might be stress. I must admit I have a had a lot of it. Out of 5 girls 4 of us are losing hair. The 5th one, who always dyes her hair (she doesn't even remember what colour her hair is naturally,) Is the only one who is not losing it.
Am I missing something there??
Guess I'm gonna have to live with it.

hiya, washing your hair every day is bad for your hair as it strips it of its natural oils, thus reducing nutrtion and shine, if it is greasy hair , you should try using a lemon based shampoo, shampoo twice, and use a minimal amount of lemon based conditioner, do this every few days.
If it is dry hair , use an almond based shampoo and conditioner or conditioning treatment/mask and leave your conditioner on for a long time whilst you soak in the bath, the heat and damp will activate it better, good luck! tash x

I'm 44. I started to lose my hair just after my last son was born 16 years ago. It fell out in heaps, then it stopped and it wasn't to bad up until 4 years ago. I have had my Thyroid checked 3 times, the last time about 6 months ago.
I'm pretty sure its not that but thanks for your concern.
I can never quite decide what sort of hair I have. If I wash it every day it goes dry, if I leave it more than a day it goes as greasy as a frying pan.
So I can't think what to use on it really.
