Breastfeeding - manual breast pump
8 Answers
Hi everyone, I have been breast and formula feeding my little one for over 2weeks now and although she is brilliant at latching on and taking from a bottle, I am having problems with my breast pump! I have been using it for 2weeks without a problem (it's an Avent Isis manual pump) but the past 2 days I express less than 1oz and then it stops, it's like there is no vacuum / suction. Baby still feeds fine from the breast so I can only assume she is getting more than I am able to! Has anyone else had this problem when expressing? Could it be me or the pump? Anyone have any other pump reccommendations? Many thanks xx

i too had this problem. Are you trying to pump when she is due a feed? Obviously the less you feed, the less milk "comes in" and it "comes in" when your daughter is due a feed.
As i started formula and breast feeding the milk started to come in less and pumping manually was a big struggle.
So perhaps you're just not producing as much milk as you were when you were fully breast feeding. x

hi nat, i had the same breast pump for babygaga.
i had the same problem and i found it was the rubber sheild thay your breast fits in, it was not on properly and - no suction.
i pressed it right in to the plactic sheild thing and it should mould right in to the shape of the plastic with no or very little air.
hope this helps
