It's not a moisturiser, though it has some moisturising qualities. It's actually a soap substitute for those who are sensitive to normal soaps and cleansers.
I use it as a moisturiser ..because it's bland and all perfumed stuff brings me out in a rash .You can use it for anything ..even as a face cream, hand cream or to wash your face with .brilliant stuff .I don't buy those big pots though ....I get the tubes from Lloyds pharmacy ..about 99p I think last time I bought one .
It works for me and I've been using it for donkeys years :)
Some reviews here http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/skin-care/aqueous-crea m/reviews/
of course there are some who say it's rubbish but on the whole it gets good reviews .Give it a try ..it's cheap enough to buy and if it doesn't suit your skin then you haven't wasted much money on it .
my sister was given a large tube of it by the hospital when she was having radiotherapy for a brain tumour. she was told to use it as a moisturiser on the area that was treated and also to wash her hair - or what was left of her hair - in it. it was really good and i guess if the hospital recommend it for this sort of thing, you won't have any trouble with it.
HI Forgetmenot - I also suffer from very dry skin and have the same problem - creams work for a while and then my skin seems to become immune to them. I currently alternate between Diprobase, Doublebase and Aveeno Cream - of these Aveeno keeps my skin feeling moisturised longest. However I WISH I could find something that REALLY works - and it's not from want of trying!!
My son had excema when he was little, his skin was dry and would get sore and cracked when he used ordinary soap. The doctor prescribed aqueous cream to use instead of soap - although a bit messy to use in the bath, it was very good and did not irritate his skin at all. It was a good moisturiser too.
I was given the cream by my doctor in a big tub, and I find it is a brilliant face moisturizer. I have a really dry elbow, and when I use that it is better than any other moisturizer.
It is a water based-gel, so it is perfect for the skin
I started to use it 2 years ago when I developed facial excema....that has since cleared up but I have continued to use it as a facial creme. It is non-greasy and keeps my skin soft.
so mostly good reviews, its not as bad as excema but just dry and flaky skin and unless its moisturized all the time you can see it, I also get quite blotchy on cheeks
