I know there will be mixed reactions to this but yesterday at about 2.30pm I tried castor oil to induce labour. I took about a tablespoon full & 3 hours later felt I needed the toilet. At about the same time I began having contractions. The thing is even 6 hours later I couldn't go to the toilet and I never had diorhea.

I took about another table spoon full and although every now and then I'd have the urge to go to the toilet, I still couldn't go. I had contractions all night but they wore off by 8am this morning.

I'm just concerned that if I couldn't go to the toilet then the castor oil is still in my system. Is that a bad thing?

You may not be able to go to toilet because baby is in way.

or it may be that the baby has been to toilet in waters (it does happen even if not taking castor oil). If meconium is present when your waters break then baby will have to be under observation for 12 hours minimum to check for any sign of infection like pneumonia as it can get into their lungs. Baby CRX was under obs as she had pooed in waters and i had not touched anything like castor oil.

The fact that you havnt been to toilet will make no difference now, just dont take any more.

are you there funky? or did the oil have the desired effect in the end?
