Deaf people...

Hi all...I wasn't sure which category to put this in...I couldn't sleep last night, and as usual, my mind started wandering into strange territories...Ooooo errr....lol

Something really puzzles me...How do deaf people wake up on time in the morning?

my wee old mum is almost totally deaf now and she has to put an alarm clock under her pillow so she feels the vibration, doesnt always work, its a wee shame

But then, how did people manage when there weren't any?

the place is wired up in a loop system, as she would have to know if the smoke alarm went off ! theres a vibrating plate for that too, the door bell and phone have a flashing lamp
d'ye know what, i jump right out my seat when the phone goes, in fact - pmsl - Hau Kola nearly sh!t herself when she was up for the weekend we visited mum for an hour and wee bro phoned, Kola nearly had a coronary

Sorry to miss the other posts out but my aunt and her daughter (my cousin) are deaf and they feel through vibrations.
Strange as it may seem to us -it is normal for them.

True ethel, I hadn't even thought of that. I suppose it's because it takes a lot to wake me up, I don't know how I'd do without a very loud alarm!
