acrylic nails

I have had my nails done for sometime now. Recently I am experiencing redness,swelling and pain around the cuticles. What could be the problem. I have been using the same salon.

Do you bite the skin? or could she have filed off the skin around the edge? Maybe an infection or they might have changed the cuticle remover cream to one which you are allergic. Casey is a nail technician and no doubt she'll be here soon to give her professional opinion.

Ok they could have applied the acrylic too close to the sidewalls (they are supposed to leave 1/2 mm gap or more. Did they use a different brand of anything that could cause allergy? Alternativly they could have filed or put too much solution (whichever your salon use) on to roughen up the nail surface so things stick better. I suggest going back and asking. Hope this helps.
