put it on a table top
wouldn't that then make ity a table top?

But yes agree paulsmummy- mine does exactly the same, burns my lap. How you get round this though, no idea- sorry.
You could try using a cushion.

No need to dig deep Paulsmummy. Use a cushion.
Had to smile when I read this as mine left a round mark on one leg where this happened to me ..now put a cushion under it!!!
You can actually buy a tray like thing to put under a laptop now ..saw it the other day!

dont it need to breath or somat tho...will it overhead if i suffocate it...lol

erm.........having shoulder problems does make it hard to find harse with both hands...hehehehe
Friend of mine who is into computers said they should be called "portables", rather than "laptops" because you shouldn't put them on your lap. Because:

1. They can overheat (as you have discovered!); and

2. The hard disk is spinning at a very fast rate. Moving the computer could cause the hard disk to move, and touch the surrounding housing, and then your data would be lost.

So ... carry it around but, when you are going to switch it on and use it, find a hard, static surface.
Question Author
wideboy thanks for them suggestions.,,,like the cool pad one.
... and it's best to have air circulate freely underneath it to prevent overheating.
I've also heard they emit small amounts of radiation. and shouldn't be used by children.
have the same problem with mine as the fans are on the bottom of it - solve the problem by getting something the same sort of size as your laptop e.g. tray, book etc. and use it to lean on. work brilliantly - mine is currently an old book of my son's which i taped shut - is the perfect size and no more toasted knees!
... precisely !!!
Question Author
right.....................winebuyer..so technically its for the lap but not advisable to use it this way.......... was it invented by a man or a woman..................lmfao...lol
