Any advice on symptoms of constipation, loose motions, pain on passing a motion, feeling as if your bowel has never completely emptied, and suffering from continual bowel wind?
Have you seen your GP yet? Sounds like IBS. What's your diet like? Perhaps you could try cutting out caffeine, fizzy pop, dairy products, wheat. Try eliminating one food goupr group for a few weeks at a time to see if it a particular food that is causing it.
Oh and drink lots of water and eat raw cabbage, carrot and apples :) And try to cut out carbs as much as poss. Maybe. It might be all wrong for you but it worked for me!
IBS cannot be cured. Treatment is available but using the medication makes your bowels become lazy so that in later they virtually don't work at all, if it is IBS you'd be far better getting to the route of the problem and changing your diet.
Try some ProBiotics ...perhaps the flora(good bacteria) that live in ur nether regions have been wiped out and need re flourishing...works really well...takes about 24 hours or less to put ur system back in gear....
Yes, see a doctor, but you could also google on irritable bowel syndrome to find out about mangement, if thats what it is, as what works for some might not be right for others...natalie_1982's diet would CERTAINLY not work for me!!
out of the too ibs is definately preferable to ibd, believe me i know! docs aren't very good at bowels. i have UC, and said i'd change my diet and go the probiotic route. consultant said it was a load of ****, yet just this week in the news researchers have found probiotics are a great treatment for UC. I told him so! far better than the alternative steroids that conventional medicine offers.
diet is big help too, basically don't eat processed crap and dairy is often a problem, as is wheat and coffee.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Same thoughts have been going through my mind partly because of family circumstances. Have hospital appointment for next week.....worrying doesn`t ease the symptoms.
