Extreme muscle pain in limbs

I am 39 weeks pregnant with my second baby. I am suffering from extreme muscle pain in all my limbs. It started the night before last with muscle pain in just my right arm and has been getting steadily worse to now include all my limbs, upper and lower. I am writing this at 3.30 am because I can't sleep with the pain/discomfort. Muscle pain is a vague term, I know, the best way to describe the pain is as if I have had a really hard work-out the day before. Muscles sore to the touch and when I move. Siitting or lying still they ache.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Does anyone know if it is something I need to be worried about with respect to the baby?

hi dont mean to worry or even exite you but i felt this 4 two nights at the end of my pregnancy, then on the 3rd day my waters broke, i was really worried about all the aches and pains but my mw said it was just baby gettin ready. you are in the last stages and your whole body is just tired and wants it all over now. if u are worried ask ur mw just to put ur mind t rest. good luck and keep us posted.

give your midwife a call, thats what they are there for. If they are unavaialbe then you can always call the maternity ward.

It could just be that baby is engaged and ready to go, but dont just leave it, ask for advice.

My midwife thinks could be a cold/flu virus (hope not) - but I'm feeling a bit better now, so that's a good sign. Still no sign of baby, just plenty of braxton hicks - but as you say - am a bit fed up now and would just love to get it over and done with! Will post when it eventually does happen.
