Lol! My youngest told me very matter-of-factly that a thesaurus was a dinosaur. It made me laugh, because when I was little, I used to think the same. We now use a book quite often, to help the children broaden their vocabulary.
Yip -I have a thesaurus and use it when I am at my wits end doing the Courier crossword lol
OMG -thats brought back memories cos I was once addicted to crosswords-when my 2 were babes and I was on matty leave and my husband bought me one for a wee pressie -think i'll get addicted again cos I loved them.
Dont like cryptic though.
When I was a youngster, we all used to play word games, and see if we could think of more definitions than the thesaurus gave. It was a great way of learning to spell, and to be able to use more descriptive words not only in our everyday language, but at school as well.
