Thanks to all for the responses and the kind words. It`s been a bad 3 years. I am on medication and didn`t realise how much I needed it til I tried to stop. I`m sure some of you will recognise the feeling. It`s frightening. Change of lifestyle starting next week seems to have the potential to improve things....time will tell. Many thanks once again. Have you seen your GP? STW is fine as long as you're not taking the "Newer AD's" such as Efexor,Seroxat,Sertraline+Cipralex,all known as SSRI's. These drugs are very addictive and dangerous.Im a member of 3 support groups for people who were prescribed these AD's only to find that not only were they are very addictive but the side effects can be devastating.

Take one step at a time, ask yourself if there is anything that can give you relief right now, watching a film, going for a walk, eating a bar of chocolate etc. Do some reality checks too - have you really got any reason to be depressed, or are you basically young, fit and healthy with good opportunities in life? I suffered from a depression myself, and even if I know tablets and stuff have helped a friend, they made things far worse to me. It was not so much about depression as about other stuff that really needed to change, for example family situation. And sometimes you can get caught by some bad feelings as in a vicious circle. It is not about pulling yourself together, though, but all about congratulating yourself and treat yourself nicely. If you seek a counsellor, be sure that you gain from the support and not only put on a workload.

Talk to people, have relaxing baths, take long walks and sit and do nothing but think positive, holiday, meet new people and do new things, rekindle old friendships, get a pet, have massages...do all things you enjoy and that will benefit your health. Perhaps go and see a friendly consillor if this does not help. Above all avoid excess of things like food, alchol or cigrattes. In the long run they will only make you feel worse *hugs* I hope you feel better soon...I have been there and I know just how it is, although it is different for everyone.
