I was trying to find some wine recently that was lower in alcohol (without being alocohol free!) and the lowest I could find was about 10%.. I'm sure years ago the wines were much more like 9% and 10% as an average - unlike todays 13%!
I drink around 4-5 bottles of wine a week, usually half to three quarters of a bottle in a session unless I am out (which isn't very often) I always start the week with good intentions and don't drink on a Monday but by Tuesday I fancy a drink but don't always have one but the rest of the week I do! My hubby drinks 5-6 cans a night around 4-5 times a week too.
You might not like the answer to what a safe limit is but that's hardly the Government's fault!
They'll tell you the safe limit for cigarettes is none - do you want to question that?
They're not going to come around and ration you after all.
Personally mine is now 0 and has been for the last 8 years.
Before that it was probably about 70 units on an average week but more importantly it'd been several years since I'd had an alcohol free day
I too have handed the torch to a younger generation
