Is there any difference between smoking cigars, cigarettes or pipes in terms of damage to your health or are they all pretty much the same?

Lip, tongue, mouth and nose cancers are more common in pipe and cigar smokers than cigarette smokers.

Smoking pipes or cigars makes you more likely to develop lung cancer than non-smokers, but less likely than cigarette smokers (if the cigar and pipe smokers don't inhale).

Still puts you at a higher risk of heart attack and other disease.

If you smoke cigars and inhale, you are more likely to develop lung diseases including cancer, because the smoke is hotter and there is no filter.

wat about a hooker....those arab things with scented water which bubble. Do you suck or blow them.......and do they give cancer?

LOL Terambulan.... a Hookah pipe is also used to inhale a certain illegal substance ...... through the cooling medium of water.... I always thought that inhaling *anything* unnatural was likely to give you lung cancer.

as for a hooker...well what ever floats your boat I guess I'm sure they would be quite accommodating to either sucking or blowing :)

Interesting...I found one, with tweezers, in a car park. Its lovely blue glass and very pretty on my wcill. It had some pink strands in the 'ash tray' but have cleaned and sterilised it. The fluid smells gorgeous and certainly defuses my ciggy smells......is it an illegal tool?

No not illegal at all, they are very often used quite legitimately for the smoking of tobacco, but it does have to be the proper flavored Egyptian tobacco (honey is nice) and you would use it by heating up stones and putting them in the bowl with the tabacco.

but water pipes can also used for the smoking of cannabis which is where they often get the bad name from, however many people do have them as ornaments in their houses because as you quite rightly say they very pretty, and some of them are true works of art.

However bear in mind it is a hookah, not a hooker, they are very very different things and you will get your self in trouble telling people you have a loverly hooker at home:)

Sadly the shishah (hookah) is more harmful to one's health than smoking cigarettes.

Unless one leaves the tobacco or other such subtances out of it.

Which isn't the same. You might as well stick a straw in your bath water.

People wont know the difference unless I spelt it out as verbally its the same sound. If its to be sucked all that water would be consumed, like a straw. Surely, that's not meant to be. Do you think I'm getting high sitting in the same room as it?

no, if you get water when you suck you've over filled it, when you suck on it it's meant to draw air over the tobacco and down the centre pipe which then bubbles up through the water (and ice if done properly) at the bottom to cool the smoke and then all you get out of the mouth pipe is air and smoke thats been cooled. and no think you'll be ok sitting in the same room as it :)

yep, that's it but mine is blue.....Cant think where the ice or hot stones would fit nor where I would get honey tobacco. It's just an ornament for me with a pleasant odour.

Got plenty of weeds (daisies etc) might try them when the dry off!

If God had meant us to inhale any sort of smoke safely he would have put a filter of some kind in our lungs
