Am I a Binge Drinker?
12 Answers
This is my weekly drinking;
Sunday - None
Monday - None
Tuesday - None
Wednesday - None
Thursday - None
Friday - None
Saturday - a few pints late afternoon/early evening, followed by at least one bottle of wine, sometimes two, over a leisurely dinner in a restaurant, retire to a pub for a few more and then home for a nightcap or two and drunk as a lord.
So, am I a binge drinker?

It would be better to spread your units out through the week with alcohol free days interspersed evenly.
Since brewing my own I've starting taken more of an interest in how much and when; I often have at least 100 pint bottles of beer at my disposal so its easy to go way over the top. I diarise when and how much just to keep tabs on it.

Yep, but then drink more than 4 units in one sitting and you're falling into that category. I usually have 2 nights of alcohol consumption in a week, where I probably have 6-7 pints, once after football on a Wednesday, and then one of the weekend nights. Alongside my healthy lifestyle I feel that on the whol my body's treated pretty well..

The question was kind of tongue in cheek becuase I knew I would be classed as a binge drinker.
I just find it bizarre that for someone who walks to and from work on a daily basis (circa 5 mile round trip), then walks the dog in the evening, plays football on a friday evening and plays vets rugby during the season on a Saturday, so to all intents and purposes leads a very healthy lifestyle, I am still classed as a binge drinker for getting bladdered one night out of seven.
But then I've read that if you drink more than four pints in one 'session' you are a binge drinker, whichi s quite clearly absurd - four pints after rugby doesn't even touch the sides!
