Ok so I've been waiting to hear results on my boyfriends tests for the lump he has found, bearing in mind he has had cancer before I was quite worried, anyway they said on 10th he would here from docs in a week so today 2 weeks later I rang docs myself and they said no he should make an appointment himself and then said xrays were all fine, so maybe thats why they didnt contact. Jeez. But whats peed me more off is that I rang my bloke after getting him appointment today and he said he wouldnt bother going.

doesnt surpise me. The doctors and the whole system in this county is a joke. My wife was having major pains at night. The doc said it was a pulled muscle and referred her to a physio. We didnt think it was muscular. A few days later she went yellow with Jaundice and was diagnosed with Gall Stones. That what as causing the pain. And because the doc diagnosed it wrong, one of the stines got stuck causing her jaundice.

Absolute joke. Docs aint got a blooming clue mate!

Good to hear that your bf is good though!

well the xrays were ok but I still want him to have appointment because what is the lump. they said his heart and lungs are ok. He doesnt seem to understand it will put my mind at rest if he just goes. my mates just been disgnosed as pulling a muscle, but she thinks its more and can feel it inside her.
phew glad he is ok though 4get! its too young that. I cant believe he had it before.

tell him to go to find out, explain that you are worried.

Im not surprised the hosp and GP havent bothered letting him know, i think its appalling even without his history. Same hospital have just given me appt to get babys first set of jabs done next monday. She had them done last week! Good job Im clued up, another mother may have made mistake of going twice.

Cancer is not always a death sentence hitler he got through it ok. We still need to know what lump is though. As could be in the skin, surely an xray doesnt check that. Although with his 6 monthly check ups looks likely hell be ok.

I thought those were the same ones redcrx. Bloody ridiculous. I have just txt him and explained that I am worried too and asked him to go to put my mind at rest, so he is going. He asked me to ring docs so I did then he moans that I get him appointment.
he got you to phone in case it was bad news sis, and you cant blame him. Now hes been given the all clear as such from his fear he doesnt feel he needs to go, its a bloke thing :)
Question Author
yer I know, the first week he kept rushing to his to see if letter had arrived then just didnt seem bothered this week
Awww, that's brilliant that he got the all clear in that respect, 4 get xx
Firstly glad to hear he is ok!...the lump could be a cyst if its soft and squidgy, or it could be gristle, so please try not to worry too much, although I would make him go to the docs if it were me!
Red - they booked Emilia in for her first set of jabs at 8weeks when she was 5and a half weeks! I questioned it and they rebooked luckily, like you say though, other people might not know.

4get, I don't think he would appreciate you interfering. I can understand that you are worried, and really he has a responsibility to you to put your mind at rest but ultimately if he doesn't want to attend the appointment you have no right asking him to do so. My hubby is very much like that, but he also knows he will get a big fat raised eyebrow and "I told you so" from me if it turns out he should have gone to the docs / hospital (which has happened on several occasions, although not cancer related but include broken ribs, asthma attacks, severe eczema, damaged cartilige, torn ligaments, gashes that required stitching or gluing ... etc etc.... and none of which were caused by me I hasten to add.

Why did you ring the docs today 4get? Didn't he even want the results of the tests? Perhaps he ought to pursue some sort of counselling if the thought of future test results scare him that much, understandably so at the thought ot recurring cancer.
Question Author
natalie he asked me to ring and find out. Its not interfeering
Question Author
I book in all his appointments because he's usually so busy at work, he asked me to then wasnt happy that it was today. and dont think counselling is needed, he didnt seem that fazed first time round.
Hey red, glad he got the all clear! x

red??

I'm a bit more peed of now that you think I was interfering
Sorry 4get!!!

Dont worry you're not interfering and you know that more than anyone else. Thats what partners do, help each other and sometimes men need more than a little push to get things done, especially in terms of their health.
With respect 4get, you didn't say he asked you to ring the docs you said he was expecting a call a week ago and then you rang today, I must have misunderstood.

I agree that sometimes partners need a push in the right direction, but as I said, ultimately, you can't make him attend an appointment if he doesn't want to - I suggested counselling dependant upon the reason for him not wanting to get the results himself.

Personally, as I read it and I obviously got it wrong which is why I asked the reason that you rang for results and not him, if I had to ring the docs for results for myself and I didn't want to know but my husband rang and then kept on at me to attend an appt but I didn't want to go then I would view my husband as interfering. If he mentioned it once and told me his reasons and that he was worried and would I attend an appt to put his mind at rest, then that would be enough.

Yes I guess you read it wrong and assumed I had rang without consulting him, I would never do that. I was just a bit peed off that he just didnt want todays appointment reason being he had dentist 2 hrs earlier and didnt want to be rushed.

Stalker hello :-) You know what in these recent weeks when Ive been down I have thought about no-one else but you and where you were :-)
