Does anyone know why my stools are so prickly? I feel like I'm passing razor blades and have some anal tearing.

My stools are quite large too. Is it true if you don't chew food properly, stools can be quite large?

I suggest your stools aren't prickly - you have piles.

Really, I thought maybe that could be the case, but I can't feel anything. Are piles usually inside the anus or out?
either inside or out
They can be either inside or out, you need to get some cream and possibly look at your diet, I have had them and they ain't pleasant.
They can be both. Some people have no symptoms, others have bright red blood in their stools or on the toilet paper whilst some people have the sort of pain you describe with our without blood.

I would get it checked out by the GP. Internal piles can be eased with suppositories
Ethel is correct, it could be piles, but the other condition that comes to mind is called a fissure in ano. Simply a cut in the sphincter(valve) ot the anus which gives pain when you pass a stool. You have almost made the diagnosis yourself in your question when you describe it as "anal tearing" Should clear up without treatment, but if not go to see your GP.
