I think most people have some sort of OCD, there are just different degrees of severity.
I can't step on floors in bare feet, for fear of germs. I have to dry myself off in the bath and then step into my flip flops.
I have major rows with my partner, as he walks everywhere in the house bare footed. I think it's so unhygenic and the thought of him bringing dirt from his feet into the bed, drives me to distraction.
I have other compulsions, most revolve around hygiene.

Considering that our skin's crawling with germs and bacteria anyway, I don't know how you're going to overcome that one, Velvetee, but being compulsive about hygeine IS a common one. I know someone who 'd never dream of dropping something on the floor and then picking it up again without washing her hands before and after. I think it's going a bit far, and can spread to other areas of a person's life as well. I have an auntie who can't bear to see a cushion out of place. You daren't sit down for fear of crumpling one!
I have the loo paper hanging down in front, easier to see where the end is... but that's not obsessive; nor is calling heads. In both cases you only have two choices, and either is normal. OCD is more about trying to control what is basically uncontrollable. Not only is constant washing stressful, it may even be counterproductive: if you don't have contact with germs you won't build up immunity; then when one does hit you you're in trouble. You might want to see about treatment, Velvetee, especially if it's causing rows.
I do like pictures on a wall to hang straight, but I don't get into arguments about it.

Velvetee, what exactly are these people going to pick up? It's one of those common paranoia about hygiene, akin to thinking you're going to pick up diseases from sitting on a public toilet. I don't do it because of a personal "ickyness" factor, but there is no valid, medical reason why you shouldn't. I agree with JNO there. I walk barefoot all the time in my flat, and I have a cat (although she's a house cat and doesn't go out). She sleeps in my bed. Whilst I wouldn't expect someone else to put up with it, I have no problem with it. I haven't been any sicker than anyone I know, and I hardly ever get a cold (haven't one this winter, actually).
