But you have to admit China, despite his psychopathic and homicidal tendancies, Heathcliff is attractive in an odd sort of way. The 1939 David Lean film is the only film ever made that I think even touches on Heathcliff's mania (Larry Olivier was stunning) - the others just romanticise it. I often think that HC was someone that EB lusted over. After all, Isabella AND Cathy both fell for him, and the narrator found him compelling.
Mind you, not sure about the digging up the dead Cathy scene, that was a bit gross.
I had to pmsl when Cliff Richard played him - that was SO wrong!!!!

I toyed with the idea of going in to lecturing after finishing my degree but it would have meant doing a masters (at least) and as I'd only got a 2:2 I wouldn't have got any scholarship for doing it so in the end I went down the admin route. Over the last few years I've done admin work for the NHS in a variety of different areas.
I'm very jealous China Doll.
It's not useless at all, because the purpose of a degree is to train you how to think and analyse things, not just to stuff your head with information. You can get a head full of information by going to most pubs on a Monday night (quiz night).
I desparately wanted to take English, and even now I wish I had done. Hence ... jealous.
Maybe I should take the Life Of Pi approach and satisfy myself that the actual reality is that I did do English.
