If one has bouts of low blood pressure does this mean that the heart is weakening....or is there another explanation?

not at all - it CAN do but not in all cases. I have naturally low blood pressure and I do have to watch certain things eg pregnancy does have a tendency to lower your blood pressure in the first few months, dont stand up too quick or you fall over lol! If you are at all worried about it, go and speak to your GP and get them to give you the full run down on do's and don'ts ..... but most of all, don't think that it means you have another underlying problem with your heart as this really and truly is NOT necessarily the case. Hugs, hope this makes you feel a bit better. xxx
