measuring bust size

At least!! used to be larger all round - then husband decided he hated me and left and have lost over a stone over the past 18 months and guess that my bra size must have changed - 10 years younger has prompted me to go and replace all my enormous grey bra's with lovely pretty ones but not sure size wise... that, and the fact I have a 'liasion' planned for Monday/Tuesday, hence the London trip.. so excited!!!

ooooooooooooooh, this is BIG gossip! how exciting!

go to M&S and try lots on. I vary between a 32C and 34B btu find it hard to find a bra that fits really well.

the rules are.. the band should be against your body at the front, between the cups. you shouldn't be able to pull up the the shoulder straps more than an inch. there should be no spillage from anywhere! take a t-shirt to see how it looks with your clothes on.

Thanks - I'm in town on Thursday (new Primark opening - pure class, me) so will nip into M&S and get measured properly, then select some suitably seductive underwear... LOL, the irony is that my M&S card bill is paid by ex ! HA!!

Bear in mind that sizes different in different shops so you're likely to be a different size in M&S than Debenhams (latter is usually more generous).

It can even differ from range to range and some styles are more supportive than others.

I get measured regularly, a 36G at the mo, and usually find some styles I like then take them in and get fitted up.

Good evening ladies, sorry to interrupt, but I just thought I'd say that I don't think measuring works. I wore 36C for years - until I tried using measurements from various websites which came up with a confusing assortment of sizes - so I went to a shop for a try-on session, trying several brands in different sizes - and found I'm 34DD. Also, if you can afford to pay a bit more and buy a recognised brand, it's well worth it I buy Charnos or Wonderbra. Very pretty and you get a much better fit, a better shape, and they last a lot longer. Buying cheap is false economy.

Oh, I hope not, Sara. I've been looking at websites this morning, and there are several companies that sell sizes smaller than that. I always think it must be nice to be tiny and delicate - but it must be difficult to get pretty things if you're extra small - or extra large.

so far as I can see, hardly anyone is happy with what they have. mine are an okay size for me but they could look better, in my opinion.

I was measured at a local lingerie shop. It was so funny. She measured around my chest, under the bust line, had a look at my boobs & said "I`d say your a 34D". I`ve not been a 34 anything for years. Fortunately, they had no bras in the shop in my so called size that I liked. I went to another shop & I`m 36C. That bra fits me like a glove.
