cat with infected cut
5 Answers
my cat has been fighting (again), he came home a few days ago with a cat claw stuck in his head just by his ear which I removed for him but it then got infected and today burst open. Is there anything I can use to clean it, eg. salt water or diluted TCP? or is it best to leave it?
Obviously I'll take him to see the vet if it gets any worse but I have a newborn baby so if I can save myself 30+ quid, and a trip in the car with both of them sqwaking that'd be great!!! LOL
TIA

Wash with warm saline solution first to get all the muck out then bathe with the TCP solution. Savlon is just as good but if you already have TCP then great, obviously if it's not cleared up by the beginning of next week then he needs to see a vet, also if he becomes lethargic or isn't eating/drinking take him, but I have done this so many times I have lost count and never needed to go to the vets.
