I've been with my partner now for 6 months and recently we decided to live together.
Everything is wonderful, except for his disinterest in sex. He's affectionate and very loving but he says that sex just knackers him to the point that he can't bring himself to do it.
He's 55yrs and I'm 10yrs younger, and gagging for it!

Is this quite common for men his age?

I don't know Miffy, but I just split with a 50 yr old.

shall we say, the mind was willing, but................ !!
50 is the best time..........no inhibitions, experience and less chance of pregnancy. If the kids are growed and left, privacy - all day!
no, it's not common - far from it in my experience.
Zacsmaster - class ;o)
would say there is a reason for it, i know many people over 50 who still enjoy a very good sex life
yeah baby yeah!!!!
it depends how demanding you are!!!
I shall be 50 very soon in fact 10 days after Madonna and 3 days before Michael Jackson. My partner is 60 and we have been together 4 years. As time has gone on his appetite has dwindled, I found it difficult to cope with at first but I decided sex isn't everything and I love him for who he is so enjoy it when it happens. I hope you can just love him for being him.
The appetite will dwindle a bit over time in the best of relationships. I think the norm is for it to ebb and flow. ......My experiance with a 60+yr old was very good......we frequently had little or no sleep.....wink,wink
Pasty ffs

i knew you came on here because you thought they were offering sex to over 50s

I don't think sex is everything in a relationship. We have lots in common and we laugh alot together. We spend alot of time in each others company in the evenings, and I love him so much. I just wanted to know if this sort of situation was common in men of his age. But as I said, sex isn't everything and it's not a problem, though I would love more sex it's worth waiting for when it does happen!
Was he more interested in sex when you first got together?
Zacsmaster sounds like a typical male, all speed and no slowing down to admire the scenery... well anyway, this does happen but I wouldn't call it common, at least not at 50 (70 maybe). It does sound like he may be covering up for erectile dysfunction (can't get an erection, or can't keep it for long) - he'd need to see a doctor to get a formal diagnosis but if it's that then I expect he knows already; if it's something else then a doctor may help. If ED is the problem, then that's what Viagra and Cialis were invented for.
