what is the best shampoo for dry and extremly damaged hair?
My hair seems to break and split at the sight of a straightner, I try not to straighten my hair to often or damage it although it always seems to be in bad condition no matter what i do...
I want to find a shampoo and conditioner that will give my hair a bit of moisture and make it a little stronger really (my hair is also colured dark brown however its always too dark anyway after being dyed as the dry ends soak it up so I don't actually mind losing the colour a bit).
Any ideas anyone? I'm at the point where i dont mind the price now either so any brand!?Thanks!

Get a good trim to get rid of dry spit ends and get a deep conditioning treatment done, hot oils are very good.

I''ve got long dark brown hair with a bit of a wave which I straighten most days and I've always used olive oil, just rub into dry hair leave on for at least 20 minutes or over night if possible give your hair a really good wash (twice usually does the trick) let dry naturally and you'll find it gets all it's shine and softnest back. I do this about once a month, I always get lots of compliments on how healthy my hair looks.

It's not the shampoo you need worry about. You need a good thick creamy conditioner (L'oreal, aloe vera). Leave the conditioner on your hair for 20mins (or longer - overnight with polythene bag on scalp), rinse off conditioner and ur hair will be restored.
When using straightners always use a silicone protection on the hair, ie Rusk sheen.

I have hair like yours, thick, coarse and dry hair, its wavy but not in a good way! i use Keraste bain satin type 2 for hair they have different types for different hair - try that, i also use Keraste leave in and heat protection creme in a green bottle instead of using sprays as they can burn the hair instead of protecting it. Good luck chum! x
